I switched from iOS to Android
For the longest time, I was one of the fanboys bitterly defending iPhone to the last breath, but then something just snapped one day…I was sitting there looking at my iPhone 4 and I realized that nothing had really changed since the first iPhone. Sure there were many more apps and new features, but overall I was still stuck in the gigantic Apple ecosystem with less and less control of what I could do with my phone and I grew more and more anxious to get out. Goodbye iOS and hello Android…
Getting ready for baseball season
I know I’m not a huge sports fan, but I do love baseball. Unlike a hardcore fan, I don’t follow stats and know all the ins and outs of every player and blah, blah, blah. I think the most fun in baseball is going to the games with friends, having some unhealthy ballpark food and lots of beer!
For the last few seasons, I was wearing a replica jersey I picked up at a sports authority, but I figured it was time to upgrade. So this year, I picked up the real deal! Only instead of getting the latest jersey style, I decided to go all the way back to 1971. I wasn’t a fan of the original 1971 jerseys, but this one was made to look like the current style. I also liked that it’s a 50th anniversary edition.
During my search for photos and more details about why the real jerseys are so much more in price, I found none. Obviously it’s a matter of embroidery versus glued on artwork, but I wanted to really see the difference. Thus, I decided to create this post for anyone in the future looking for the complete breakdown. Sometime next week when I get the new one, I’ll go over the differences between the two. In the meantime, bestow your eyes upon this beauty!
Busy busy busy
A lot of my friends complain about how busy I get from time to time. Working full time, going to school and trying to manage my ‘little’ web empire is not the easiest way of life, I assure you. I can’t imagine what life would be like if I had kids! Anyway, I thought I’d jump in here and post something since it’s been a few months of NOTHING.
Personal Blog Updates
Format Change: This site (if you haven’t noticed) has become my personal blog site. In it, I just talk about things like this—interesting to me, but maybe not to you! It’ll serve as sort of a network link between Ledfrog.com and DigitizingLife.com so I can keep all my crazy hobbies in order.
Ledfrog.me: As a result of this change, Ledfrog.me will soon be merged into this site and then set up as a forwarding domain. I might have been a bit overzealous in registering that one, but what’s done is done and now it’s time to consolidate.
iPhone Repairs: Due to word-of-mouth through my friends, I’ve been getting random requests to fix iPhones, iPods and other broken tech. Soooo, I’m going to be extending my services beyond my circle and providing repair services to anyone who needs them. This won’t be some highly-invested idea that bottoms out before I make a buck. I’m going to offer the services, set some prices and leave it alone. In other words, finding business for it won’t be a priority.
Ledfrog.com Updates
Podcasts: I’ve been working super hard on Ledfrog.com and getting things ready for a new form of communication (for me that is)…the podcast! Brian Sousa and I are going to be running a simple “show” that talks about technology and everything related. Basically, this will be an extension of everything I already write about on the site but now we can have live dialog.
The Forum: My original plan was to change out WordPress for the new CMS provided by vBulletin, but after tinkering with it for a few weeks, I decided that wasn’t the road I wanted to take. Instead, I opted to use the vBulletin Forum by itself and continue to use WordPress as the CMS. You can see the subtle integration by visiting the blog and the new forum.
New Look: After many changes to the theme over the last half year, I finally settled on the one you see now. While it’s still a work in progress, I love the fact that it is super customizable and for someone like me (non-coder), I need all the efficiency I can get! This way I can spend more time writing, blogging and podcasting. Everybody wins.
That’s it for now…
